PHILOSOPHY
As a teaching artist, I use my professional training and experience to create process-driven lessons and classes. I believe that process learning builds on a student's natural sense of curiosity, which in turn, creates a deeper and more meaningful understanding of concepts and techniques. Differentiation is Inherent in this type of teaching and allows for modifications for students of varying levels and learning styles.
My personal work as an artist and designer has taught me countless lessons about who I am as a creative thinker, problem-solver, and human. My goal in teaching and mentoring students is to provide a framework for self-discovery, build autonomy in personal work, and develop cooperative skills in collaborative projects. Through STEAM programming, students can establish confidence in their point of view - a skill that will serve them well in their education, but also in many other aspects of their lives.
